EAST HAMPTON, Conn. — The Middletown Press reports that 91-year-old Nelson Gustine, who started the long-standing Nelson’s Family Campground in East Hampton, looks back at his many adventures in a new paperback book titled “Nelson’s Family Campground: A Collection of memories from Nelson’s Campground.”
The book, released in March and authored by Gustine himself, takes readers through more than 160 pages of camping history. From the building of the campground in the early 1960s to its countless visitors over the years, Gustine captures the essence that any camper or campground owner can relate to, says the Middletown Press.
Gustine, a World War II veteran, said everything he’s experienced during his tenure at the site is discussed in full detail, page for page.
“My whole life is in this book,” said Gustine. “It pertains to what my life’s dream was and I try to bring a lot of the things that happened to me along the way though it.”
