CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. — The management of Chincoteague Island KOA announced today that the campground will open two weeks early – the new date is the May 12-14 weekend – to participate in Kampgrounds of America’s 14th annual Care Camps Big Weekend, a national fundraiser to help children with cancer.
Campers who stay at the Chincoteague Island KOA on May 12, as paying guests are eligible to receive a $10 night of camping on May 13. Funds raised from the May 13 stay will go toward the KOA Care Camps Trust, which distributes more than $1 million dollars annually to support 125+ medically-supervised summer camps for kids with cancer throughout North America.
The annual KOA Care Camps Big Weekend event is the official start to KOA’s 2017 summer camping season and is being offered at participating KOAs throughout North America. Learn more at koacarecamps.org or KOA.com.
Donations raised during the May 12-14, weekend will all go to benefit KOA Care Camps, a network of more than 125 specialized, medically equipped summer camps throughout North America that offer children batting cancer a true summer camp experience at no charge to their families.
