Cascadia State Park could be added to county parks

(May 13, 2015) -- A plan to transfer ownership of Cascadia State Park to Linn County continues to move forward — although at a snail’s pace.

ALBANY, Ore. — A plan to transfer ownership of Cascadia State Park to Linn County continues to move forward — although at a snail’s pace — Commissioner Will Tucker told fellow commissioners Roger Nyquist and John Lindsey Tuesday morning, according to The Democrat Herald.

Tucker and County Parks Director Brian Carroll have participated in talks with representatives of Oregon State Parks on and off for about three years, The Democrat Herald reported.

Tucker told The Democrat Herald Oregon State Parks has included the transfer project in its annual budget since 2013.
