Camping fees increased for some Mont. campgrounds

(April 10, 2014) -- The Bureau of Land Management Overnight camping fees for Camp Creek and Montana Gulch campgrounds have been increased to $10 per night and $8 per night, respectively.

MALTA, Mont. — The Bureau of Land Management Overnight camping fees for Camp Creek and Montana Gulch campgrounds, both located in the Little Rocky Mountains in Phillips County, have been increased to $10 per night and $8 per night, respectively, KXLO reports.

“The proposed fee increase stemmed from an analysis of campground fees which incorporated BLM guidelines and a comparison of other federal, state and municipal campgrounds in north and north-central Montana with similar amenities.  The proposed fee increases were then presented to the RAC on May 9, 2013, and were approved through consensus,” Vinita Shea, the BLM Malta Field Office Manager, explained to KXLO.
