CA: Project to replace RV park with condos rejected

(April 20, 2017) -- The long saga of the Audiss RV park and the planning process for the development that will replace it has apparently come to an end with the denial Tuesday of an appeal of the design approval of the project by the City Council.

EL CERRITO, Calif. — The long saga of the Audiss RV park and the planning process for the development that will replace it has apparently come to an end with the denial Tuesday of an appeal of the design approval of the project by the City Council.

Community activist Howdy Goudey initiated both appeals largely on social justice grounds, arguing that low-income and elderly residents of the RV park had been displaced with scant compensation to build 29 three- and four-bedroom townhomes that will sell for an estimated $800,000 to $900,000 apiece.
