CA: Pismo Coast RV resort converts loyalty dollars into gift cards

CROWLEY, Texas, July 31, 2018 — Pismo Coast Village RV Resort in Pismo Beach, Calif. has become one of the first parks in the nation to convert its AGS Loyalty Program dollars into gift cards for park staff.

“We really appreciate the fact that AGS was willing to do this for us,” said Jay Jamison, general manager of Pismo Coast Village.

AGS awards Loyalty Program dollars to park operators who provide AGS sales teams with enough advertising leads to cover the cost of producing their guest guides. When this happens, as is usually the case, the park operator receives the guest guides for free, since the production costs are covered by the restaurants, urgent care centers, dog groomers, RV repair shops and other businesses that advertise in the guides.

Park operators typically use their AGS Loyalty Program dollars to purchase everything from rack cards to uniform shirts, advertising and giveaway items as well as AGS products and services.

But Jamison recently asked if AGS would be willing to apply its Loyalty Program dollars toward the purchase of Walmart gift cards and the company agreed.

“We subsidized the cost a bit with our staff, since we have 68 employees. But we are very happy that AGS was willing to go this direction for us,” Jamison said, adding that Pismo Coast Village has been an AGS customer since 2004.

AGS is seeing record growth in its guest guide loyalty program with a 30 percent increase in loyalty dollar spending during the first six months of this year compared to the same period last year.
