CA: Man arrested for stealing campground fees

(March 21, 2017) -- Dillon Hobbs was arrested on suspicion of four misdemeanor counts associated with stealing money from the stations at various sites around Lake Shasta, according to U.S. Forest Service officials.

REDDING, Calif. — A 23-year-old Redding man has been arrested for stealing money from recreation fee stations on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest.

Dillon Hobbs was arrested on suspicion of four misdemeanor counts associated with stealing money from the stations at various sites around Lake Shasta, according to U.S. Forest Service officials.

Shasta Recreation Company, which operates recreation sites around the lake, reported to forest service that the fee stations were being targeted by thieves throughout the winter, officials said.
