B.C.: No winter camping at Williamson’s Lake

(April 16, 2018) -- Infrastructure upgrades, campground layout, need for more staff time for campground winterization among reasons Revelstoke city staff say they are not supportive of Revelstoke Visitor Centre request.

REVELSTOKE, British Columbia — It’s a no from city staff when it comes to offering year-round camping at Williamson’s Lake.

A report to city council states the costs necessary to upgrade existing services to accommodate winter RV camping make the proposal cost prohibitive for the city to take on. The City of Revelstoke is the registered owner of Williamson’s Lake Park and Campground, with operation and management contracted out to a caretaker.
