MONTICELLO, Iowa — The Iowa Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds announced today that industry consultant Mary Arlington has been brought in as its executive director.
“We’ve known Mary since her park-owner days, and we stayed in touch ever since, watching as she embraced the association management duties in Kansas and Colorado,” said Chip Smith, president of Iowa ARVC. “Iowa is presently a small yet loyal association, and Mary has worthy benefits planned for us.
“She’ll be reaching out to all Iowa campground owners as she also works to enhance our benefits package for 2018,” he added. “Also, having her aboard lets the association’s leaders return to our primary efforts at our own campgrounds. We see this is a win-win-win for all parties.”
“I attended some Iowa ARVC meetings when I was a park owner, and some of us stayed in touch regarding park operations,” said Arlington. “As with Kansas and Colorado, I’m familiar with the people, and now it’s time to become acquainted with the ones who aren’t members to find ways to bring them aboard.”
Arlington is quick to assure the Kansas and Colorado members that her duties won’t be changing with the addition of Iowa.
“These clients have similar management needs, and yet their members have slightly different program needs,” she explained. “Iowa and Kansas are similar in scope compared to the projects in Colorado. This first year with all three might have me ping-ponging geographically, but the daily tasks are very similar. I’m genuinely honored that they asked me to join them, and I’m excited to be working with them!”
