Arizona State Parks may be able to keep their revenue

(Jan. 20, 2012) -- Under legislation proposed by Rep. Karen Fann, R-Prescott, Arizona State Parks would be able to protect the revenue it raises and use it for park operations, reports the Arizona Capitol Times.

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Under legislation proposed by Rep. Karen Fann, R-Prescott, Arizona State Parks would be able to protect the revenue it raises and use it for park operations, reports the Arizona Capitol Times.

The Arizona Capitol Times reports that HB 2362 would create a fund allowing Arizona State Parks to keep all of the money generated from gate fees, concession fees, souvenir sales and all unconditional gifts and donations not specified for particular projects.

Fann said the money would go toward operation and maintenance costs for the entire park system. The bill would also protect against the state pulling money from the agency to help balance its budget, reports the Arizona Capitol Times.
