  1. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue! I used to work at the library unfortunately, this staff needle injury is not even the first incident of its kind. The opioid crisis has a profound effect on our libraries, and system refuses to talk about it. They fear that installing sharps containers will cause people to associate libraries with drug use, so they stick their heads in the sand. This also relates to the bathroom access issue last year restroom drug use is so routine that SPL simply limits access to single-occupant restrooms rather than finding a way to supports transgender patrons who feel unsafe in those multistall gendered restrooms with the super short stall doors. Now they are finally building single occupant gender neutral restrooms. Thank you for flipping the script so that SPL can see the PR dangers of their tone-deaf failure to provide sharps containers. I hope the coverage has an effect. custom writings
