(Aug. 20, 2010) -- Visitors to St. Peter’s Campground will now have easier access to the site now that federal and provincial offices provided $85,000 in funding for the village to realign and widen the road for larger RVs, the Guardian reported.

(Aug. 20, 2010) -- Lisbon officials and representatives from the New York Power Authority are working to resolve electrical problems at the town campground that allegedly stemmed from faulty wire installation in 2004, the Watertown Daily Times reported.

(Aug. 20, 2010) -- Dunes campground at Sandy Beach, Whiskey Gulch and Sagebrush will all reopen by 6 p.m. Friday. The campgrounds that remain closed are: Waters Point, Broken Arrow, Burnt Wagon, Muddy Bay and Elk Horn. State Park staff estimate that these campgrounds will be open by Sept. 1.

(Aug. 19, 2010) -- The California Department of Public Health temporarily closed Plumas-Eureka State Park Campground due to an elevated risk of the plague following the discovery of a plague-positive dead rodent. The park is hopeful that the campground will reopen prior to the Labor Day weekend.

(Aug. 19, 2010) -- Patty Rae Stanley, who owned the Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort in Bar Harbor, Narrows Too Camping Resort in Trenton and Patten Pond Camping Resort in Ellsworth, filed the lawsuit Tuesday seeking $6.7 million in damages from the Eaton Peabody law firm and its attorneys Dan McKay and Sarah Zmistowski.

(Aug. 17, 2010) -- Lance Dzaman, the developer behind Sandy Point RV Resort, announced this week plans have been scaled down from 3,125 lots to 1,125. He also dropped plans for a third stage of development, which could have added another 600 sites to the project, the Red Deer Advocate reported.
