(Sept. 2, 2010) -- Personal consumer expenditure (PCE) in July rose a slightly stronger than expected 0.4 percent following no change in June. Expectations had been for a slightly weaker 0.3 percent gain. Personal income rose as well although by a more moderate 0.2 percent after remaining unchanged in June.

(Sept. 1, 2010) -- Dometic promised 241 jobs between its Elkhart and LaGrange facilities but has created almost 400, just over 300 of those in Elkhart. Dometic was third highest in investment dollars among the companies honored at the meeting, spending $6.8 million in equipment and facilities.

(Sept. 1, 2010) -- Candy Blakeslee, of the Protect Our Rural Lifestyle Referendum political action committee, said she submitted 446 signatures, well above the 188 minimum to qualify the referendum for an upcoming ballot, the Sun Shopper reported. The committee wants to overturn council approval to rezone 17 acres to allow Kampgrounds of America to open an RV park in Chino Valley with 32 cabins and 119 campsites.
