FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- A top Navistar executive told the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel the company expects to know within a month whether it can work out a deal to move its headquarters to Lisle, Ill., and consolidate much of its Fort Wayne operation there, the paper reported.
Don Sharp, chief information officer and vice president of Navistar, said some Fort Wayne employees have already toured the Lisle area. But, he cautioned, “Nothing should be read into that.”
Sharp has been put in charge of the company's effort to make a second run at establishing a larger headquarters and incorporating more of its operations to Lisle. He describes the project as asking, “Is there a path forward that we can walk with all parties? It's premature to speculate on the outcome of the process.”
Even though Navistar dropped its original effort to move to Lisle in May, the company still wants to consolidate more operations in a larger headquarters, the News-Sentinel reported.
