McLEAN, Va. -- Kampgrounds of America CEO Jim Rogers told USA Today recently that more than 40 percent of their customers travel with a dog -- and the numbers for this year are up 14 percent.
"We encourage people to bring their pets,'' says Rogers. "It's a great way to get people to enjoy the outdoors and to meet other people. I find I'm always meeting people when I'm walking the dog. I'll find people setting up yards for their dogs at campsites."
KOA campgrounds often provide pet parks, water stations, grassy fields, doggy playgrounds and supplies of biscuits, treats and more at its locations, USA Today reported.
