HARTFORD, Conn. -- State park advocates say Connecticut made a mistake in doubling state park and camping fees last year.
Members of the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, Friends of Connecticut State Parks and other park supporters appeared at the state Capitol on Wednesday to urge legislators to rescind the increase.
All Department of Environmental Protection fees, permits and licenses that had cost less than $150 were doubled on Oct. 1, 2009 as a way to balance the state budget.
