CAMP HILL, Penn. -- Northampton Community College announces that its spring RV Technician Distance Learning Course on RV generators is set to begin March 29.
The course will be divided into three classes:
- Generator systems overview and installations on March 29
- Electrical connections, engine and generator starting April 12
- Controls, maintenance, troubleshooting and codes on April 26
The RV generator course provides students with theory as well as operating, installation and maintenance procedures, as well as troubleshooting and repair techniques.
Northampton Community College is one of only a handful of National Recreation Vehicle Technical Institute (NRVTI) approved training sites nationwide. Their e-learning (on-line) distance learning RV technician training program is one of the best in the country. All of the programs are approved by the RV Industry Association and feature competency-based instruction, assignments and testing.
Northampton’s own college-level specialized diploma, awarded after successful completion of the program, prepares the technician for industry certification by RVIA/RVDA. All courses are taught by RV expert Greg Dewalt who brings many years of RV repair and service to the classroom.
The courses include hands-on assignments as well as on-line, web-based assignments and quizzes. Successful completion of the e-learning program (13 courses) reduces the amount of work experience for master certification to two years instead of five years.
