ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Calif. -- Melik Noui, an employee of Systems 2000 Dealership Software, has returned safely from his trip to Haiti to assist with humanitarian relief efforts.
While in Haiti, Noui worked as a translator and medical assistant for a variety of rescue organizations. These included the Los Angeles Fire Department, the Catastrophic French Rescue Team, General Prosper Avril (ex-president of Haiti), Winnie Romeril, Red Cross disaster response spokesperson, and the Alliance for International Medical Action.
There are many images that Noui says will stay with him for the rest of his life, but when asked if he would do it again, he didn't hesitate.
“In a heartbeat," he said. "I never imagined that I could make such a difference as one person. I had brought a duffle bag filled with supplies to help and only wished that I was able to bring more.”
Systems 2000 encourages everyone who is able to donate money and/or their time to the Haiti Disaster Relief to do so. Be sure to donate with a reputable organization and ensure they are using your funds specifically for the Haiti Relief Effort, cautioned Carl Sconnely, president of Systems 2000.
