AUSTIN, Texas -- Griffin Kelp, founder of Beaten Track Studio, created a mobile music recording studio out of a fifth wheel travel trailer.
"We were given this RV and asked to bless the city by preserving live music and enabling local artists to start their careers at a low cost," he said. "Austin is home to hundreds of artists whose creativity remains undiscovered. Our vision is to foster a spirit of creativity and community by holding tightly to Austin's excentric ideals through our unconventional workspace -- a trailer."
The group is seeking a truck to help pull it to local venues, as well as computer equipment and recording equipment.
"We hope to record tons of live bands out of the trailer," said Kelp, who noted the project could help fund thousands of new albums from up-and-coming Austin artists through the "music capital of the world's" first mobile recording studio.
