CRESTVIEW, Fla. -- In lieu of the usual midlife crisis, such as buying a Corvette, Palmer Stevens set off to explore America. On March 3, 2011, Stevens departed Detroit with a 2005 Ford F-350 diesel dually pickup towing a Fuzion 393 camping trailer, writes the Crestview News Bulletin.
On Jan. 24, his odyssey brought him to Crestview, Fla., where he spent a couple days camped out in the Crestview Public Library parking lot. Over a meal, he described his adventures and shared advice for RVers, writes the Crestview News Bulletin.
“It took me 25 years to wiggle my way out of corporate serfdom and mortgage bondage and pets and all the rest of the American dream,” he said. “Downsizing is very popular these days. I enjoy the freedom and benefits of being lightweight and mobile.”
