Operation update for Colorado's John Martin Reservoir

LA JUNTA, Colo. -- The Bent County Democrat reports that Bent County Commissioners heard from Bob Shade, Park Manager at John Martin Reservoir State Park, about how the park is going to operate this spring and summer.

The Point Campground will be open for Memorial Day weekend and is currently taking reservations for camping on weekends and holidays. Lake Hasty Campground remains open year-round and is reservable from May through September, reports the Bent County Democrat.

The Bent County Democrat also reports that new this year, the gates to the north shore open Feb. 13. The opening provides early access to shore fisherman and more opportunities for the public to use the area.
