ALPENA, Mich. -- Recreation officials say Rockport State Park, 4,200 acres of land along the shores of Lake Huron north of Alpena, has become Michigan’s newest state park, reports CBS Local.
The park includes, among other things, a deep-water protected harbor, a series of sinkholes, a boat launch facility and several other recreation opportunities, reports CBS Local.
CBS Local reports that the park had been managed as part of the state forest system before being transferred to the Parks and Recreation Division.
