CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Canaveral Fire Rescue Assistant Chief John Cunningham said a couple escaped injury yesterday morning when their 35-foot-long “fifth-wheel” travel trailer was destroyed by fire at Carver's Cove RV Park in Cape Canaveral. He said an alert from a smoke alarm probably saved their lives, reports Florida Today.
“If they didn’t have a smoke detector, they wouldn’t have gotten out of there in time,” Cunningham said.
Cunningham said the fire may have been electrical in nature, stemming from a computer printer in the trailer, writes Florida Today.
