WASHINGTON -- The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Logistics Branch announced today it is seeking bids to construct temporary housing units for use in emergency situations.
The agency intends to issue a solicitation in order to award multiple contracts for the manufacturing of temporary housing units, specifically one- two- and three-bedroom manufactured homes. These units shall be built to meet FEMA's performance specifications which are based on 24 CFR 3280, which applies to manufactured home construction and safety standards.
The contract(s) will be indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity. FEMA intends to order a minimum quantity of 20 units. Contractors should have the ability to ramp up production to a total of 125 units per week within 14 days of notice.
The period of performance is for one base year and one six-month option. The NAICS Code applicable to this solicitation is 321991. This requirement shall be solicited as a full and open competition using FAR Part 15 procedures.
