CHARLESTON, S.C. -- EK2's new tire pressure monitoring systems allows drivers to monitor the real-time tire pressure and temperature of two to 22 tires from the comfort of the driver’s seat, the company announced today.
Wireless sensors placed on the on the valve stems of the tires send a wireless signal to a small display monitor mounted in the cab.
EK2 TPMS wireless tire pressure monitoring systems are based on the latest wireless sensor technology. Newly designed, flow through sensor technology (EK215G) allows users to add or remove air from tires without removing sensors. This new, low maintenance designs saves time and money for RVers, said Jeff Holmes, director of North American Sales for EK2 Products. Sensor compatibility allows additional tires to be monitored within minutes, by purchasing additional sensors.
EK2 Tire Pressure Monitoring System allows the user to set customized low tire pressure, high tire pressure, and high temperature values. The exact tire experiencing trouble will be displayed during all alerts.
Should a monitored tire experience high air pressure, low air pressure, high temperature, or an air leak, an alert will sound so that precautious actions may be taken to prevent a catastrophic blowout, Holmes explained.
The EK2 TPMS Optional Transceiver, which can be purchased separately, allows sensors’ information to be transferred to the truck’s display monitor when trailers are changed. A transceiver must be installed on each trailer where it acts as a data exchanger, as well as, signal booster. This allows multiple trailers to be exchanged without the need to reprogram the TPMS, using EK2 TPMS’ “Link” feature.
