SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- On Tuesday afternoon, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Santa Cruz after a standoff with police that lasted several hours, reports the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
According to Deputy Chief Steve Clark, officers arrived at the scene and found a woman who said she'd been battered in a fight with her live-in boyfriend. The boyfriend ran into the couple's RV and locked himself inside, reports the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that the man allegedly had some crude and/or makeshift weapons in the RV with him, including a sharp metal pole, Clark said.
Officers were eventually able to force themselves into the RV and apprehend the man before he grabbed any weapons, reports the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
