KOA sees 10 percent rise in Kamp & Care Weeekend

(May 15, 2012) -- Participating KOAs throughout North America logged nearly 42,000 camper nights between last Wednesday and Sunday, a double-digit increase from Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend 2011. "Come Kamp & Care With Us Weekend isn't just the official start of the summer camping season," said Gast, "It's also a pretty good indicator of how things might look for the rest of the summer."

Lazydays founder supports Hall of Fame

(May 15, 2012) -- A 2008 inductee into the RV/MH Hall of Fame, Wallace's donation comes only days after Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World Inc. and Good Sam Enterprises LLC, helped the new fundraising campaign by becoming the first to make a personal $25,000 pledge aimed at helping pay off the Hall's bank loans. The goal is to raise $100,000 in voluntary contributions by Aug. 31 to be matched by the Robert "Boots" Ingram family, which has offered a $100,000 challenge grant for the purpose of lowering the Hall's debt to 1st Source Bank by $200,000.

Retail sales increase, consumer prices steady

(May 15, 2012) -- Retail sales rose a modest 0.1 percent in April 2012, slowing from sizeable 0.7 percent and 1.0 percent gains in March and February, respectively, RBC Economics Research reported. Expectations for the April 2012 consumer price index (CPI) report were for weakness in energy prices in the month to offset another modest increase in core prices and leave the overall index unchanged from March.

MaxxAire releases handheld remote for MaxxFan

(May 15, 2012) -- MaxxAir's Handheld Remote offers an easy-to-read and simple-to-understand LCD screen. A transmission signal is displayed on the LCD screen when a button is pushed to indicate the signal was transmitted to the fan. This remote can be used to turn the fan on/off and select any of 10 fan speeds, open/close the vent lid, reverse the fan from intake to exhaust and place the fan in Auto (thermostat) Mode.

Calif. family awarded $450,000 in Cruise America case

(May 15, 2012) -- Yesterday, a Los Angeles jury awarded $450,000 to the Domaille family. In 2008, Dennis Domaille was seriously burned outside the family's Tioga Gas Mart business in Lee Vining when a fireball erupted while he was filling the propane tank of a motorhome, reports the Daily Breeze.
