The recreation committee in Deer Lake is searching for a long-term operator and plan for its municipal park, the Western Star reported.
The town owns the Deer Lake RV Park and Campground but a private operator has usually taken on the day-to-day business and maintenance of the facility.
“It seems like each year we’re doing this over and over again. We’re looking for an operator for the park each year. “We’d like to have more of a long-term commitment,” Recreation Director Junior Pinksen told the Western Star. “The new goal is to get an operator or a proponent to go in and operate the park with more of a long-term vision and plan."
The park is located on the beachfront of Deer Lake. It consists of 35 camping areas and 10 spaces for recreational vehicles.
